Severe landslides caused by heavy rains have devastated the district of Wayanad in the southern Indian state of Kerala. The impact of these landslides is catastrophic, resulting in over 200 reported deaths and injuries as well as the destruction of homes, businesses, and local infrastructure. Relief and recovery efforts are currently underway, and the selected nonprofits are providing emergency aid to those impacted. Rains have caused landslides and severe floods in many parts of the country and killed hundreds. Parts of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan have received heavy rains and overall rainfall in northwest India has been far above normal. Villages and towns have been inundated and many have lost homes and lives.
