Test Fund setup to verify payroll functionality in Funds

To celebrate the accomplishments and progress we have made towards the goal of breaking the cycle of the under served in our global communities this past year we are launching a challenge (because we love competition) for a good cause, supporting the work of 3 of our close NGO partners CHAMPS, SOS Maroc, and Openmind Project.

Our food choices have a very direct impact on not just our own health but also the environment, farm workers and public health. This is also a social justice and inclusivity issue since research shows that minorities are disproportionately impacted due to factory farming. The NGO’s in this fund strive to create a more compassionate and inclusive world by enabling people to make more thoughtful plant based food choices. The good news is that in addition to Cisco Foundation matching, any donations made via this fund will be matched by an external investment fund, VegInvest, dollar for dollar up to $50k per NGO annually. Note that Cisco employee data will not be shared with VegInvest, only the total $ raised. As of April 2022, VegInvest has matched a total of $1,720 (of which $1,359 were donated by Cisco employees and $361 were donated by non employees).

A major storm system stalled over Western Europe on July 14-15, leading to record-setting rain over Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland, France and the Netherlands. Some parts of Germany received two months of rain in 24-48 hours, leading to rivers overtopping their banks, flash flooding through communities, and hundreds of people injured, missing or dead. The Ahr, Volme and Dussel rivers all overtopped their banks with record-setting water levels, which led to evacuation orders and emergency declarations in multiple cities. As the water continued to flow downstream, it filled dams past their capacity, leading to more evacuations as infrastructure was stretched – sometimes beyond its breaking limit. There has been extensive damage to homes, businesses, and infrastructure in the worst natural disaster the region has faced in more than half a century.

1. Support 30 more kids for 2021 and 2022 school year : DBSSS has identified more than 30 poorest of the poor children of all ages who are deprived of their basic right to education due to the financial crisis during the covid-19 period as many of their parents were forcefully terminated by their managements from their jobs. We are waiting eagerly for kind hearted people to come forward either with sponsorship or scholarships to support them for their educational needs like tuition fee, books, uniforms, nutrition etc. DBSSS would mediate to help them realize their goal in life with timely reporting. The best gift one can give is the gift of education. 2. COVID-19 Relief support : Even though the Covid-19 impact is very bad DBSSS team has been working relentlessly from day one to gather food supplies, cooking food, packing, transporting and distributing food supplies to the poor from door to door. We are very much be empathetic to needy people who lost their livelihoods and who are stuck up at places other than their own for lac of transport facility. Many were forced to walk for hundreds of miles only to give up their life on the way due to starvation. Now there is an urgent need to provide them provisions to stop starvation in the current Covid-19 as it is taking different turns. 3. Housing for homeless : Shelter is the necessity for all human beings. 30% of the population in Hyderabad enjoy staying in their own residence but 50% of middle class people live in rented houses and 20% poorest of the poor population live in utter poverty which is resulted with lot of slums, highly populated with unhygienic condition, no less moral standards. The rain began over the weekend, with storms intensifying on Tuesday. By Tuesday night, Zhengzhou and other places in Henan province saw widespread flooding. There were reports online of people swept away by fast-moving floodwaters, and cars and debris drifting down submerged streets. Several dams and reservoirs have breached warning levels, and soldiers have been mobilised to divert rivers which have burst their banks. Flights and train operations in many parts of Henan have also been suspended. Several recent reports have drawn attention to the sudden increase in mental health needs among children. One of them, called Child Suicide in Mexico: It is a problem that is not talked about enough, for example, the story of Analy. At 10 years old, Analy was a "normal" girl. This is how she is described by her family. She is obedient and with good grades in school. She liked to play dolls and jump rope. After her suicide, her parents will be left with uncertainty about why her little girl made that decision. She - she looked so good. I don't know what really happened –says Mónica Ortiz Félix, the mother. Next, the report reports that cases like Analy's are increasingly common in Mexico. In 2010, there were 118 deaths of boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 14 due to suicide. The 641 cases reported in 2018 show that incidents increased five-fold. In this bleak context, we ask you today to consider making a donation to Amextra's psychology program in the State of Mexico. Through this program, we work with both children and adults to detect and address needs for psychological support, before it is too late.

Dear Softball Supporter: CONGRATULATIONS to our local 14U All-star Softball teams for earning their invitation to compete in the Babe Ruth Softball World Series. As you might imagine, this HUGE tournament, which runs July 18th through June 27th, requires serious fundraising to help families of talented young athletes offset tournaments fees and travel expenses. We will be housing, providing meals and uniforms for players during this period of time, which can be quite expensive. We would greatly appreciate any contribution to our program to help subsidize the costs associated with this level of competitive play. Our organization is a 501(c)3, non-profit, meaning all contributions are tax-deductible.

It’s been a tough year for all of us, and we’re grateful for those on the frontline that have kept our communities safe and supported. We’ll never forget 2020 and the impact it has on so many. We’ve created the Cisco Canada Fund, including 10 national charities doing great work in this country.

Sacred Heart’s annual event provides backpacks and grade-level school supplies to thousands of local students. Help a student start the school year right, by donating to this fund. SH will use the dollars to purchase items supplies (for both teachers and students), pack, bundle, and distribute to over 3800 schoolkids in need. Every dollar donated will be matched by Cisco!

On June 19, 2021, Christina Zajicek passed away peacefully in her home in Colorado after a multi-year fight against cancer. Her journey and determination was an inspiration to many. In lieu of flowers, her family is requesting donations on behalf of Christina. As an organization, we encourage everyone who is interested to donate to Metavivor and GiGi's Playhouse. Donations will be matched by the organization as long as an employee has not reached their annual max. Her own words from her obituary created by her family: “You don’t know me yet, but my name is Christina Zajicek. I’m 28 years old, and I am dying. But, here’s the thing. So are you. There’s not enough time in every way you could interpret the statement, so I’ll make this short. You have the most wonderful gift of life and limitless potential to live and love fearlessly. All you want is within your reach; it just takes some action and hard work. In the meantime, love each day. Love each person. Make each day more magical for yourself and the people around you. Make decisions that make you happiest and don’t make decisions based on fear of what could happen, guilt, or the way everyone thinks things should be done. Look up from your phone more often. Feel in perpetual awe of the world because this is pretty damn incredible place filled with endless people to meet and learn from and countless places to explore and experience. Spend more time with people and in nature. Close your eyes and feel the sunlight on your face. Really feel it. Feel the warmth on your forehead and cheeks. Listen to the sound of the wind blowing the trees. Look at someone around you and be incredulous that everyone has come from a series of cells and molecules and good and awful experiences to be alive and be a part of your world at this very moment. Go all in. Whether it’s loving someone so deeply you feel it pulsing in every molecule of your being, investing every dollar you have in a wild dream you have, or making a decision that scares the living shit out of you. Find out what you are most afraid of and do it anyway. Know that all moments of pain will pass. Force yourself to feel so alive that you could swear electricity is literally running through your veins. Everything is infinitely possible and you are right where you need to be. But now you have the remarkable opportunity to be more brave, more honest, more kind, and more alive. Just go out and do it. Even though I am dying, this is not a story about death. It is a story to make you feel alive.”

In 2009 a family member was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and this has fundamentally changed their life. We are hopeful that research and treatment will continue to evolve and that is why each year I participate in the Bike MS event. Fundraising for this cause goes directly to funding not only research but families affected by multiple sclerosis. I hope you will consider helping me reach this year's goal of $2k to support finding a cure while aiding those in need.

Connected Portugal Week will close virtually, with a live performance by The Rock4' Operação Nariz Vermelho - Fundraiser Dance Party. Our main mission is to fundraise for Operação Nariz Vermelho, throughout the hour-long live performance, while promoting Operação Nariz Vermelho's main purpose - to ensure an ongoing program of intervention within the pediatric services of Portuguese hospitals through the visit of professional clowns. These artists have specialized training in the hospital environment and work in close collaboration with health professionals, performing actions adapted to each child and to each situation. Armed Forces Day is the annual opportunity to show your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces, past and present, and the families that have supported them in turn. During Armed Forces week were asking that you make a small sacrifice and give up an indulgence such as: • Your posh take away coffee from your favourite barista • A pint in the local • Taking your car to the local car wash • That cheeky bottle of wine • A takeaway meal • A round of golf • Or whatever your guilty pleasure is? By donating the monetary equivalent you'll be supporting the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) who exist to relieve need, suffering and distress amongst the Armed Forces, veterans and their families in order to support their independence and dignity. They help by providing direct support to individuals in need of physical or emotional care. Addiction, relationship breakdown, debt, homelessness, post-traumatic stress, depression and disability are all issues that can affect our members of our Armed Forces community. Many of these problems only become apparent when an individual has to leave their life in the Forces and join ‘Civvy Street’. SSAFA is committed to helping our brave men and women overcome these problems, and rebuild their lives.
